Donation of Books & Other Materials
The Library loves your donations!
Books and other donated items should be clean (no dirt, bugs, highlighted sections, etc.) and placed in a sturdy box.
One box per person.
Donations enrich the library’s collection and are welcomed!
Donated materials become the property of the Library upon receipt to dispose of as they see fit. The Library reserves the right to accept or refuse any conditions placed upon gifts of materials.
Because of the large amount of labor required to evaluate older materials and the significant cost of staff time to process the donations (approximately $11+ for each donated item), the Library accepts donations of materials with the intent of only keeping items in excellent condition and of current use to the collection. Materials not added to the collection are given to the appropriate Friends of the Library groups and either sold with the proceeds supporting the Library’s mission or disposed of.
We are currently accepting:
- Books (for all ages levels), clean & in good condition
- DVDs / Blu-Rays
- Books on CD
We are not accepting:
- Textbooks, older than 2 years
- National Geographic Magazines
- VHS Tapes
- Homemade Audio-Visual Media (CDs, DVDs, Cassette Tapes, etc.)
All donations are accepted without conditions.
We cannot add every item given to the Library, nor do we make any promises to add items if we accept your donation. Materials cannot be returned to donors if they are not added to the Library’s collection.
