Current Lunch Services

Grab ‘n Go Drive-Through Lunch Service (through July 2021)
Meals are for children, ages 2-18, and must be present. Meals are FREE.

Arvin Branch Library | Tuesdays – Thursdays, 12-1pm

Beale Memorial Library | Mondays – Fridays, 12-1pm

Delano Branch Library | Wednesdays – Fridays, 12-1pm

Wasco Branch Library | Mondays – Tuesdays, 12-1pm

Taft Branch Library | Mondays – Wednesdays, 12-1pm

Kern River Valley Branch Library | Wednesdays – Fridays, 12-1pm

Rathbun Branch Library | Wednesdays – Thursdays, 12-1pm

Lunch service is made possible through a partnership with the California Library Association, Kern County Superintendent of Schools, Kern High School District, Sierra Sands Unified School District, Taft City School District, Southern Kern Unified School District, Delano Union Elementary School District, the California Summer Meal Coalition, and No Kid Hungry.

Child Food Programs/ Programas de Almentación Infantil

  • Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program
    • “The Women, Infants, and Children Program, also known as WIC, is a nutrition education program. WIC helps pregnant women, women who just had a baby, and children up to age 5 eat well, be active, and stay healthy. WIC welcomes dads, grandparents, foster parents, or guardians who care for eligible children. WIC services are provided at no cost to you. Newly pregnant women, including military and migrant families, are encouraged to apply!” (CAPK Program)

    • California’s food stamp (SNAP) program

Senior Food Programs/ Programas de Alimentos para Personas Mayores

  • Meals on Wheels
    • These home-delivered meals are available to persons 60 years or older who are homebound (by reason of illness, incapacitation, disability or isolation) and unable to leave their homes to participate in the congregate meals. (Kern County, Senior Nutrition)
  • Gleaners Senior Sack Program
    • Provides a food sack twice a month to registered seniors. Seniors can register at site with one-time $2 registration fee.
