On Monday, January 10, 2022, the Kern County Library will be retiring its appointment-based curbside service system.
Visitors can still access contactless curbside service through the release of the Kern County Library “Book a Book” system, which will allow individuals to pick up titles through the ValleyCat mobile app.On Monday, January 10, 2022, the Kern County Library will be retiring its appointment-based curbside service system.
With Book a Book, you can:
- Schedule a Time to Pick Up Your Holds
- Receive Status Updates
- Grab Bags With Staff-Selected Titles Can Be Requested Online
Here's how to Book a Book:
STEP ONE
Find your holds on ValleyCat app. Must have the ValleyCat app to Book a Book.

Not ready to checkout everything? Tell us which titles you want to pickup by selecting items from your holds.
