RSS Feeds

What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a convenient way to keep up with what's new at Kern County Library. When you subscribe to our RSS feeds, you will receive notices of new or updated content on the Library website, with a brief summary and a link to the relevant page.

RSS requires either a feed reading program installed on your computer or a web-based service to view and manage your feeds. The Open Directory Project provides a list of feed reader programs that you can download and install. There are also many web-based services to choose from, such as My Yahoo, Google Reader, and Bloglines.

Ready, Set, RSS!

Once you've found a feed reader program or service that you're comfortable with, you're ready to go! You can subscribe to our feeds in one of two ways:

  1. Copy and paste the address text for the feed into your chosen feed reader.
  2. Click on one of the Quick Link buttons:
    • XML if you have a feed reader program installed on your computer.
    • My Yahoo, Google, or Bloglines if you use one of these web-based services. For best results, log in to your Yahoo, Google, or Bloglines account before you click the button.

If you have any questions, contact the Kern County Library Reference Desk at 868-0770, or send us an email.
