Dramatic Presentation: The Living History Exhibit. Reenactments form African American History. Imagine being just a human possession: no legal rights, physically whipped and abused, sold at auction to the highest bidder, or killed at will. Historical scenes from the African American experience - slavery, Reconstruction, World War II, Civil Rights Movement - will be brought to life through poetry, music, chants, dramatic readings, and original writings performed by CEO (Community Empowerment Organization). Storytelling Concert: Charlotte Blake Alston Master Storyteller: Family Storytelling Concert. Charlotte Blake Alston, from Pennsylvania, is a storyteller, narrator, instrumentalist and singer who has preformed in venues throughout North America and abroad. Venues include the John F. Kennedy Center for the Preforming Arts, the Smithsonian Institution, the Women of the World Festival in Cape Town South Africa, and many more.charlotte has recieved numerous honors including the prestigious Pew Fellowship in the Arts. She holds two honorary PhD's and received the Circle of Excellence Award from the Naitonal Storytelling Association.
